Dana Smith (Associate Instructor) is an actor, theatre director, writer, and teacher with over 30 years of experience in the US. In addition to her work with the Emotional Body® , Smith is a Certified Trainer of Lessac Kinesensics: Voice and Body Wisdom. As a voice and movement specialist, Smith also practices the Alexander Technique, the Viewpoints, the Suzuki Method, and the Feldenkrais Method®. She is a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and her research interest is in the Emotional Effector Patterns as an acting method. She also has conducted extensive research into crossover applications between the Emotional Effector Patterns and the NRGs of Lessac Kinesensics. Smith recently retired from her long-standing position as a Professor in the Theatre Department at Truman State University, where she taught a variety of courses, including: Lyric Performance, Voice and Movement, and Theatre History and Literature. She studied at the Moscow Art Theatre as part of her doctoral studies, and earned a PhD in 1996.
